As summer is coming to an end and school is starting again, it is time to become proactive in the prevention of colds, flu's, allergies and protect ourselves against the new Delta Variant of COVID-19. The Delta Variant is causing and will cause many more problems in people during the next few months, especially in those who are not vaccinated. As an Integrative Medicine MD who has treated many patients who have had COVID-19 and its long-hauler syndrome symptoms (30% of those who were asymptomatic when they were sick are now having long-term side effects like fatigue, memory, GI and heart issues), the evidence based most effective way to reduce your risk is by getting the vaccine. In addition to the vaccine, it is still important to keep your immune system strong, lower inflammation, eat a whole food plant based diet, exercise, sleep well and lower your stress.
